Located in the Mauricie region of Quebec, Grand-Mere is situated north of the city of Shawinigan and offers year-round activities and adventures. Spring is the time for maple syrup harvests and tourists to Grand-Mere can enjoy this Quebecois custom by visiting two traditional sugar shacks, the Erabliere Chez Lahaie and Cabane a Sucre Lac Mondor. Both provide old-fashioned meals and a variety of maple products and treats. The area around Grand-Mere is composed of forests, lakes and farmland with La Mauricie National Park nearby, a major attraction offering excellent cross-country ski trails and canoeing ventures. Visit the ski resort Vallee du Parc, with its groomed trails and plenty of winter fun including snowmobiling and snowshoeing. In the summer, enjoy a round of golf at the Club de Golf Grand-Mere and Club de Golf Sainte-Flore, both featuring 18-hole courses.
